Homemade Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

It's rainy day these day. So let's warm yourself with these Red Velvet Hot Chocolate Drink! Here's what you need;

1. Milk (I use full cream milk)
2. Sugar
3. Cocoa powder
4. Chocolate chips / bar
5. A tiny bit of instant coffee powder
6. Red food colouring
7. Vanilla ice-cream

Now you have all the ingredient, let's start making our drinks!

1. Heat the milk and sugar until it simmer. *Note, jangan sampai boil! ada beza disitu

2. Pour those milk into your cup, with cocoa powder and chocolate chips inside. Set a side.

3. Then you, kacau-kacau semua bendalah tu sampai sebati. Eh! Tetiba Bahasa Melayu keluar kau!
4. Add a little bit of salt, (sikit sangat OK!) and  instant coffee powder. Mix mix mix, and then add few drops of red food colouring.
5. Top up with vanilla ice cream and decorate it with chocolate chips and whatever you like! I put those chocolate chips, rice, and a pinch of instant coffee powder! Dah siap!

Enjoy!

*Simmer means to bring a liquid almost to a boil over low heat. Simmering liquid is characterized by small bubbles which rise slowly to the surface, usually breaking before they reach the surface. For more info.

*Instant coffee powder ni dimasukan sebab dapat menaikan rasa chocolate. Jangan tanya kenapa, kena rasa sendiri baru dapat bezakan.

*Vanilla ice cream (for me) is a must, kalau tak masuk vanilla ice cream memang tak jadi, sebab tiada rasa vanilla dan kurang  berlemak. Senang cerita, kurang umph!

*Memasak chocolate memang banyak pantang, lagi-lagi kalau pure chocolate yang dalam bentuk serbuk, (bukan milo, or instant cocoa powder) Experimenting dengan pelbagai jenis chocolate memang banyak membantu. Setiap rasa akan berbeza.

That's all, cubalah!

*saya bukan tukang masak terlatih, hanya mengikut pengalaman.
